The brief
Every September, Uva e Dintorni brings thousands of people to Avio. The site had three jobs: make people want to be there, tell them what, when and where at a glance, and work well on a phone, in a crowd, on a bad connection.
What I did
- No framework: hand-written HTML, CSS and JavaScript. What’s in the folder is exactly what’s online, no build step.
- Images converted to
webpby a script, so pages stay light even on 4G. - English and German versions generated from the Italian one with
tools/traduci.py: only one language is edited by hand. - Menu and footer kept in sync across all pages by another script.
Festival concept and visual identity by Aurora Mattei: the site follows its colours and typefaces.
