The brief
Yammi Ramen serves ramen, donburi and dumplings a few steps from Trento station, in an anime-inspired setting. The website had to say quickly what’s on the menu, how much it costs and how to book, with the same character as the restaurant: colourful, playful, full of illustrations.
What I did
- Design and development in Astro, with fast static pages: home, menu, offers, the restaurant and contacts.
- The menu lives in a single data file (dishes, prices, descriptions, allergens, vegetarian options): edit it there and the menu, the home page and the structured data for search engines update together.
- An animated hero with a video of the anime-style restaurant and falling petals, with a fallback button where the browser blocks autoplay (Safari).
- Booking and directions in one tap: on phones, a fixed bar with “Book” (WhatsApp) and “Directions”.
- Offers as cards with highlighted prices, and the restaurant’s Google rating front and centre.
- Structured data for Google (restaurant, opening hours, menu with prices), a sitemap and a redirect from the old address to the main domain.
